21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebede and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them.
22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.
24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them.
25 Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judae and the region across the Jorda followed him.

베드로와 안드레가 예수를 따르고 있었고 좀더 가다 역시 어부인 야고보와 그의 동생 요한이 아버지와 그물을 깁고 있는 모습을 본다. 가업인 그들에게 아버지만 남겨두고 가기 쉽지 않을 결정이었음에도 아버지 홀로 남고 두 형제는 예수를 따른다.
본격적으로 갈릴리 지역에서 하나님 나라의 복음을 선포하며 사람들의 모든 질병과 아픔을 치유한다. 예수의 소문은 북쪽 온 시리아까지 퍼져 그곳에 아픈 사람들 모두 와서 치유 받았다. 그렇게 갈릴리 뿐만 아니라 데가볼라, 예루살렘 그리고 유대와 요단강 건너편으로부터 많은 무리가 예수를 따랐다.
