32 'Whoever acknoledges me before men, I will also acknoledge him before my Father in heaven.
33 But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.
34 'Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth.
35 For I have come to turn "'a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her motherinlaw-
36 a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'
37 'Anyone who loves his father or mohter more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
38 and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
40 'He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me.
41 Anyone who recives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and anyone who recives a righteous man because he is a rightous man will receive a righteous man's reward.
42 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly ont lose his reward.'

예수가 십자가 위에서 죽음으로 우리의 죄를 덮어 하나님과 연결된 자녀로 다시 태어났다. 이것이 진리이고 복음이다. 그런데 이 복음을 사람들 앞에서 당당히 말하고 있는가? 아직도 내가 짓고 있는 죄에 얽매여 있거나 내가 속한 교회가 짓고 있는 죄들로 부끄러워 말 못 하고 있는 것은 아닌가? 나와 우리의 육신은 아직 마귀가 지배하고 있는 죄에 세상 가운데 있기 때문에 다시 태어난 우리의 혼이 우리 안에 있는 하나님 나라에 침노해 들어가야 한다.
예수가 온 것은 화평을 위해서가 아니라 칼을 주러 왔다고 했다. 어둠 가운데 있는 마귀가 다스리는 이 땅에 살고 있는 우리에게 빛을 가져다 주신 분. 복음이라는 빛이지만 그 말씀에는 권능이 있어서 마치 칼과 같다. 그래서 가정 안에 복음이 처음 들어가면 가정 안에서 다툼이 일어날 수 있다. 원수가 될 수도 있다. 하지만 나보다 가족을 더 사랑하면 나의 제자가 될 자격이 없고 한다. 가족과 원수가 되어 가족을 사랑하지 말라는 뜻이 아님 읽을 수 있는 자 누구든지 알 수 있다. 내가 예수를 믿고 사랑하는 것이 나를 핍박하는 가족에 대한 애통한 마음으로 기도하게 할 것이다. 그렇지 않다면 그다음에 말씀하시는 ‘자기 십자가를 지고 나를 따르지 않는 사람은 내 제자가 될 자격이 없다.’는 말씀을 무시하는 것이기 때문이다.
내가 무언가를 해서 내가 똑똑해서 내가 지혜로워서 하나님나라를 깨닫고 복음을 전하는 자가 되었는가? 아니다. 결국 나 자신을 더 사랑하기 때문에 예수를 사랑한다는 것은 하나의 수단에 불과한 마음이 아닌지 돌아보게 말씀하신다. ‘자기 목숨을 찾으려고 하는 사람은 잃게 될 것이며, 나를 위하여 자기 목숨을 버리는 사람은 얻게 될 것이다.’
